My name is Andre Garcia. I started my tattoo career in 2008 and have been tattooing for over 11 years.
I was originally born in the Philippines in 1985. My family and I immigrated to the United States in 1991. My first influences were animated films. Early on I was drawn to Studio Ghibli and Disney films like Nausicaa Valley of the wind and Aladdin. My father, Orlando, is also a lifelong artist. He is self taught and instilled a love for art at an early age. Some of my earliest memories are watching him paint portraits of our family in watercolor. These experiences continue to be a huge influence in my work. Art has always been at the center of my life as I grew to become an admirer of American comic books and Japanese manga.
I pursued art throughout middle school High School and College by taking several courses. I believe in constant self improvement and am currently pursuing a degree in fine art. I enjoy doing artwork in all mediums and am constantly experimenting with many styles.
Currently I specialize in large scale illustrative and Japanese influenced tattoo designs. My goal is to create inspired body art that adorns the client in an interesting and expressive way. Dedicating my life to Tattooing has enriched my life in nearly every way. Working with great clients throughout the years has been extremely rewarding, I am grateful for each unique experience that I have had as a Tattoo artist.
Without the support of my loving family I would not be where I am today. As a father and husband I am motivated to strive to be my best self each day and to be someone my children can look up to.
I currently co own and operate Apothic Heart Tattoo Collective in Sacramento California.
